Finally, in telophase, the nuclear envelope reforms around the separated chromosomes, and the cell undergoes cytokinesis, where the cytoplasm divides and two distinct daughter cells are formed.

Cell division is not limited to mitosis. There are also other forms of cell division, such as meiosis, which is involved in the production of gametes (sperm and eggs), and binary fission, which is the process by which prokaryotic cells divide.
